Staff spotlight: Sarah Funck

While Sarah Funck has been working as a CMA in assisted living since January 2018, being on the job is nothing like “work” at all.

“I love the residents at Emporia Presbyterian Manor,” said Sarah. “I never feel like I am going to work, I feel like they are family.”

No matter what the residents are going through, Sarah enjoys being a part of their lives.

“I love being able to build relationships with them, care for their needs, be there on their good days and their bad days. I love seeing them get stronger and reach a goal, and also being there when they aren’t feeling well. I love getting to know their families and hearing their stories. I am here for them,” said Sarah.

Sarah credits her team of colleagues as a great network of support, too.

“This job is very rewarding, and I learn more about myself every day. I also have some amazing nurses on my team that I couldn’t imagine doing this without,” said Sarah.

When she’s not on campus, Sarah enjoys hanging out with her “other” family and kids. She has two children – Haley, who is almost two, and Carter, who is five. Sarah is involved with her church and enjoys photography and singing.
