Housekeeping, maintenance teams celebrated

In September, staff members responsible for keeping Emporia Presbyterian Manor looking good and working well where celebrated during national Environmental Services Week. Collectively known as the Environmental Services (EVS) team, staff members were recognized for their teamwork, commitment and adaptability.

“Our EVS team is an ‘all hands on deck’ type of team,” said Caitie Stineman, human resource director at Emporia Presbyterian Manor. “They consistently meet the changes and demands for each day, whether planned or not.”

The group’s team-first mentality has been particularly on display during the coronavirus pandemic as they have risen to the challenge to keep everything within the community clean and sanitized.

“The EVS team has met everything COVID has presented with a real can-do attitude,” said Caitie. “I truly believe that all Presbyterian Manor staff members have stepped up to meet the new demands of health care.”

Beyond the dedication that members of the EVS team bring to their job, Caitie also stressed the important role they each play in the overall comfort and happiness of the community’s residents.

“I recently visited with a housekeeper who knew the ins and outs of exactly how a resident liked his room kept. She enjoyed making the resident’s apartment the most home-like that she could,” said Caitie. “That joy and fulfillment meant a lot to me and still encourages me to this day.”
