Staff Spotlight: Jessica Canchola

In the 17 months she’s been working on our campus, Jessica Canchola has had the opportunity to change job titles in order to do more of what she loves: interacting with residents.

“I love residents. They make each day special,” said Jessica.

Jessica started working for Presbyterian Manor in January 2018 as a nurse but transitioned onto the activities team as Assistant Activities Director in February of this year.

“I absolutely loved the idea of being able to interact with the residents from a different angle. Making them smile and laugh. Seeing them enjoy each other and listening to the conversations that different activities start is pretty neat. You learn more about the residents. And I enjoy being able to be creative,” said Jessica.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, too.

“I love spending time with my kids and dogs. We enjoy being outside gardening and working in the yard. We also love being at the lake, country drives and sitting around the fire with family and friends.”

Jessica’s family consists of her husband, Jose, three adult children, Damian, Kloey and Silas, and daughter-in-law, Jessica. She also has four Huskies, Trigger, Mia, Lula and Emerson and one Peekapoo, Charles, who Jessica claims as her fourth child.
