Lifelong Learning

Exploration and discovery are a vital part of living well and play a key role in healthy aging. In fact, studies show that people who stay stimulated intellectually throughout life are typically happier and healthier. Residents of Emporia Presbyterian Manor routinely participate in activities that keep them engaged in the community and the world through lifelong learning programs.

Just Ask

We offer Just Ask educational sessions to the general public as well as our residents, presenting the latest information on topics of interest to older adults. Topics include senior fitness, warning signs of Alzheimer's disease and heart disease, financial planning and how to avoid scams.

Each year, in partnership with the Emporia Chamber of Commerce, we host a legislative forum with our delegation to the Kansas Legislature.

In addition to hosting occasional lectures and programs, Emporia Presbyterian Manor maintains a well-stocked library. Library resources include several hundred large-print books on a variety of topics, and special reading aids for those with impaired vision. We also have an arrangement with the Emporia Public Library whereby they regularly bring out books for our residents.
